Taking orders

I am currently taking orders on the very first piece in my flamenco line. This piece I've named Prisilla. :) Although there will be more they probably won't make an appearance until after Christmas.

The stats: 2 1/2 inches, swarovski crystals, $15 not including shipping. Your choice of color. Please leave a comment or email me if you are interested in a pair. They are very light weight earrings and are comfortable to wear although long.

Flamenco line preview

I haven't really started on what I call my "flamenco line" of jewelry. I have been experimenting and I came up with one style I really like. So ... here a few photos of different colors.

I will be posting more as the months go by. I am trying to have a complete collection out for the spring of 2010.

I have finally gotten around to taking photos and editing them to post. None of these things you see here are for sale yet but perhaps in the near future they will be. I am currently working on many diffrent pieces and will show you photos throughout the month and into September. I'm not only getting ready to vend but I'm thinking of halloween style crafts as well as christmas.

I was able to work on a few things last night. I created two bracelets and one necklace. I think they came out lovely but of course I would say that right? :) I will be posting some photos of them more then likely later this afternoon. Need to charge up my camera battery.

My goal is to create at least two pieces every day. Perhaps more depending on how much time I have. I think Sunday's are the most productive day for me. I have until September 19th. I think I can do it if I work on something everyday.

I've had the time to update www.adorntonia.com AND adorntonia.etsy.com . I am waiting on a few shipments to come in with supplies I need to get started on some unique pieces. These I will post photos of but they will only make it onto Etsy/Web site if they are not sold, when I vend in September.

So many other things coming up it's quite exciting and I can't wait to show you what I make once I actually do it.

Re-haul

Tonight I plan to do a total re-haul of my etsy account and my web site. I need to rearrage everything and put them in the correct place. I also plan to put up a few new pieces that I've meant to do months ago. Depending on how long this re-haul thing takes me, I might even work on a few new pieces.

Been a while

It's been a while since I've updated this blog at all. I've been really busy with many things and haven't had a chance to take time to make many new pieces. I have a ton of ideas that I will be working towards creating in the coming months. I have the idea to make a new line for Flamenco(spanish) dancers. It's really an exciting venture I think. Who better to create these types of items then someone who is a dancer herself and knows what they want/need. At least I think so. Perhaps a belly dance jewelry line in the works as well, since I will be vending at a belly dance performance in the next few months.

I will be posting up some new items as soon as I get my camera back (my boyfriend is borrowing it). I made a beautiful antique brass necklace/earring set for a silent auction and I have to say everyone loved it. It was beautiful antique brass with ruby crystals. I really loved it and I'm sorry now I didn't take photos of it. :(

Well I'm off to enjoy what's left of the weekend but I will be back sometime during the week with new updates.

Website and Etsy

Today I will be uploading new stuff to etsy and the web site. I want to have both and of course they will have different items. I want to see which one does best but either way it's in my best interest to have both. At least in the long run. I'm working hard on getting my site out there for people to notice. Lets hope it works.

So it's finally finished. Took me a few weeks to get everything in there and I still want to add better photos but it's up. I will still have my etsy shop but for now it's closed until I re-arrange some stuff.

There is still some tweaking I need to do to the boutique but ... hey it's functional.

New Web site

As much as I like etsy I'm not sure how much longer I will be a part of it. Seriously I haven't had much luck with it. I've decided to totally "go on my own" with this and design my own web site. I woke up bright and early to start on it and I've worked on the coding and getting it kinda sorta the way I want it and it took me about 6 hours to do. I still have a lot more to do since this is really the first online store I've ever designed. Wish me luck and it will be up soon.

Tomorrow I'm hoping if time permits my boyfriend can take photos of all my jewelry with me wearing it. So hopefully the site will include better photos of each piece as well and I have some new stuff I also want to introduce via my own web site.

New photos coming this week of me actually modeling my jewelry. I'm hoping this will help increase my sales (online) if people see how my jewelry actually looks on. Maybe it won't make a difference but perhaps it will. Worth a try any how. I don't have a problem selling items offline. Sale update

I sold 16 pieces of jewelry this weekend. Some were pieces I had listed on etsy, some were new pieces I made this weekend. Here are a few things that I sold.

I made this piece yesterday. I loved how this one came out and I want to make more to sell. Copper looks so pretty with shades of green and blue.

I think I will be gaining more clients for this because everyone I sell to has about 10 more people who want jewelry, so hopefully this will become a lucrative side business for me.

Feeling creative

Although I should sleep since I really haven't in the past 35 hours, I want to create something. I'm not sure what yet. I have a few ideas of things to make but lack the supplies. Maybe tomorrow after meeting with a few clients I can run to Micheals or Hobby Lobby and pick up what I need. It's not jewelry. I feel like painting and being creative that way. I design gothy style wooden boxes for jewelry, perfumes etc. I made one to store my growing collection of Bpal. Perhaps I will fix it up (because it's gone though some rough times) and post a photo of it here. Maybe I can add that to etsy. Would be a nice place to store small items.

I think I will have to take a small nap before trying to do anything creative. Lack of sleep is making me feel sick.

I've noticed I haven't been receiving comments through my email account. I only notice them when I visit my own blog. So if I haven't responded to you, that's why. I'm not quite sure how to comment back. I mean I do, but I'm not sure you guys are receiving my replies. Let me know if you are because I'm still getting the feel for blogger. Perhaps a setting is off or I really don't get this. I'll figure it out later, but help me out if you can.

Past pieces I've made

Well the photos I'm about to post are a few of the items I have sold or kept for myself. Some of them (such as the ring) I've made several just like it because it seemed everyone wanted one.

These are actually mine. I made them as a present to myself for my birthday last year.

This is actually the only piece going on etsy later today.

This is a necklace I experimented with. It is made with carnelian beads, rootbeer color glass chips and gold chinese seed beads. It came out lovely and I wear a lot of this color so I kept it for myself.

I tend to make a lot of rings. People seem to not be able to get enough of them. I made 6 of these exact rings. Some in silver some in gold. I kept the last one, but I will be making more in the near future.

How it looks on my hand. Very bling bling!

This is a lovely small necklace I just made. I haven't decided if I like it enough to keep or if I should sell it. :)

I've finally decided to do something with the blog's look. I found a really pretty template and I also had a really hard time making it work on here. I had to fiddle with it a bit to get it to work. Also I have a mailing list for anyone out there that would like to be up to date on what's going on over at my shop. Also any news about sales, new designs etc. It's free to join and I won't spam you senseless with updates, either.

I've been wanting to do an etsy/blog update but to be honest the new stuff I made was sold faster then I could even take photos of them. It's ok since I made over $100 in sales in two days. I'm commissioned to do more stuff, so I guess any free time I have will be designing these new pieces which of course I can't post on etsy. I will however try to take photos of them, so I can at least share here. All of them are rings. I have been handing out cards and getting new clients as well. If I have any free time tomorrow (which is highly doubtful) I want to try to make it out to some bead shops to see what I can find for these new rings I need to make. If I can't find anything, there is always the internet but I'd much rather find them at the shops so I can know exactly what I'm buying.

This is my update for now. I need someone to model my jewelry, since no one here can take a photo to save their life. I can't model my own stuff AND take photos.

I made a new piece yesterday. I'm about to start on another one as well. Working from home allows me to multitask. When I have a chance a break out my beading supplies and become creative.

Most of my inventory has been taken to be sold in person. I'll be happy if I sell a few pieces out of the bunch. I've been lazy about taking photos lately. Perhaps later on this afternoon or tonight I will post some though. I need to update my etsy store with new items, it's been too long.

I finally received my business cards and labels (for my packages) this week. I'm waiting on a few more advertising merch., I've ordered. It's always fun starting a new business, more so something so creative as jewelry designing.

Vending for the first time ...

I suppose it's going to be my first time, although it's not until September. However some of you know I dance professionally and I will be doing a benifit show with a ton of other dancers in September. I have offered to be a vender as well as entertainer. I will set up a table with my beaded goodies. It should be fun!

I plan on finally getting a ton of work done. I sold a few pieces today offline. I plan to add at least 5 new pieces tomorrow or perhaps tonight if I have the energy. Unfortunately Sayuri is not doing well and I have to take her in for maintanence tomorrow and goddess knows how long that is going to take.

I hope to be updating the shop and this blog with new stuff very soon.

I have been MIA for a while. I've been super busy with work and other things I haven't had a chance to update Adorntonia or this blog in over a week now. I have found time here and there to create new pieces. I just haven't found the time to take photos and edit them for the web. I have been working a bit on getting the word out to people I know and they in turn are letting other people know about Adorntonia. I seem to make almost all my sells offline though so we'll see how the etsy thing turns out in the end.

I know winter is almost over but I am going to start working on knitting projects to add to my etsy store for next autumn/winter season. Possibly a few other crafty surprises in store as well.

I anticipate that tonight I will be able to add a few if not all of the pieces I've created within the past week or so. Stay tuned to this blog and adorntonia.etsy.com for all updates.
